Hair is a source of self-confidence. Hair thinning or intense shedding brings stress and loss of self-confidence.
Hair transplantation is an operation which is also in high demand all over the world as well as Turkey. People with hair loss can achieve a very effective result with correct application. Hair transplantation generally covers the transplantation of the follicles taken from the area where healthy hair is present. However, of course, a professional application is required. Incorrect application can cause a bad appearance and unsuccessful results.
The primary point to be considered in this regard is to choose the right physician. In applications performed by people who do not have sufficient expertise, separations between the roots or an overlapping bad appearance may be encountered. In hair transplantation applications, it is also very important to transplant the hair at the right angle. If there is no right angle, the hair can grow vertically. This creates an unnatural look.
We have stated that during hair transplantation, solid roots are planted in sparse areas. When the roots are damaged during this process, hair may not grow in that area again. This is definitely an undesirable result. If the neck hair capacity of the patient is limited, it may not be possible to correct.
There are 3 popular methods used for hair transplantation. These are called FUT, FUE and DHI.
The FUT hair transplant method is a method that has been applied since the 1930s. It covers the details of removing the hair strip as a band from the safe area of the nape and separating it into the roots under a microscope. The scalp where the strip has been removed is stitched after the procedure.
FUE hair transplant method is one of the most preferred methods in hair transplant operations. The hair follicles in the donor area are taken one by one, not as a block, and transplanted to the area to be transplanted in the same way. These applications are provided with millimetric tools. Scars formed in the FUE method heal faster. It is also less visible than the FUT method.
It can be called micro-FUE because it does not require cutting the skin of the people undergoing hair transplantation. Punches with a diameter of 1 mm or less are used to remove individual hairs from the donor area.
After the hair transplant application (if FUE method is preferred), the scalp will be very sensitive in the first week. For this reason, it is important to take measures to protect the skin. In order to get a good result from the hair transplantation process, it will be effective not to consume alcohol and cigarettes and to stay away from dirty environments in this process. Hair should not be washed for 3 days after transplantation.
It is perfectly normal to have small red scaly sores on the skin. There is nothing to worry about. The scabs will heal after a short time. However, if the scab is permanent, the physician should be consulted as it may prevent hair growth.
In the first six months following the hair transplant procedure (the same result is not observed in everyone), weak hair falls out and new ones come out. At this stage, chemical substances such as spray or jelly should not be applied to the hair. At the same time, it is necessary not to enter the pool and not to contact the hair with excessive pressure water. Most of the transplanted hair grows within six to nine months after the application.

For all those who have suffered from hair loss, hair transplantation or autotransplantation is the most natural way to permanently regain hair. Since the transplanted area is one where healthy hair is added to the patient, it will not result in further hair loss. Hair transplantation is a surgical technique based on the transfer of small skin fragments and their associated hair bulbs from denser areas of the head to thinner ones. These are therefore living follicles taken from the patient themselves and remains to this day one of the few solutions available for diffuse atrophy of the hair bulbs typical of those suffering from alopecia.
FUE Technique (Follicular Unit Extraction) is the process of transferring healthy hair follicles that are taken from the back and side of the head (donor area) using a hollow cylindrical scalpel (punch). Small scabs that will disappear in a short time will form in the donor part, corresponding to the number of bulbs removed.
The hair transplant is performed under local anesthesia and requires the administration of an anesthetic directly into the scalp. It can be done with or without a syringe; it depends on the patient’s pain tolerance. However, in both cases, the pain from the anesthesia is very mild.
The procedure takes about 5 – 7 hours. The dressing applied to the head after the operation is removed the following day. Medications will be prescribed following the procedure.
